First off, here is what I already have:
1. Smith and Wesson AR 15
2. Winchester 12 Ga Auto
3. Remington 20 Ga youth pump
4. Remington 870 Express 12 GA
5. Kahr 9mm pistol
6. Remington Nylon .22
7. Ruger .22
8. Savage Model 110 .270
and as a family we have and AK 47, 2 marlin .22's, a Henry lever action .22 mag, and two 16 ga shotguns. Then Matt has a .270, a lever action 30-30, an 870 express, a bolt action .22 mag, a diamondback .380, and a ruger .22. Mom also has a .22 pistol and a .410.
You would think that those would pretty much cover whatever you wanted to do but NOPE.... so without further adieu, here's the list:
1. Savage Axis or TC Venture Predator in 22-250
2. Christensen Arms 300 Ultra Mag
For those of you who have had the opportunity to handle one of these puppies understand why I have it on my list. These things are like butta. They are totally light and and totally saaaweet. I need this for when I draw that once in a lifetime desert bighorn tag.
3. REMINGTON r25 IN .308
I have always wanted an AR that looks like the origninal M16 with the non adjustable stock and then these came out. I would love a .308 to add to the collection and what better than in an AR style platform? I could hunt varmints and big game with this rifle and not even skip a beat.
4. LEVER ACTION COLT .44 (or I would settle for one in .357 mag.)
I have also always wanted an old lever action cowboy gun that shoots a small caliber. How fun would it be to go shoot up stuff with one of these and feel like you're back in the old west!
5. SAVAGE LIGHTWEIGHT VARMINTER -T IN .204 RUGER
This is one of the most balanced guns I have EVER put to my shoulder. I will never forget the day I looked at one in Cabela's. I have wanted it ever since. It's a saucy gun and fits me perfectly!!
6. HOME DEFENSE 12 GA
I think a short barreled shotgun is the perfect home defense shotgun. You how intimidating does this look?? I want mine tricked out with flashlight and laser sight. I haven't really decided on a brand yet.
7. SAVAGE HUNTER 10 BRUSH (.223 22-250, or .204)
I know I already have varmint rifles on here but I LOVE this one too. I can't decide on a caliber. If they made it in a .22 hornet I would jump all over it. I guess I would settle for a .17 cause I don't have one of those or it would be nice if they made it in .220 Swift. Then I would have all the varmint calibers pretty much covered. It is a little heavy and has a heavy barrell but it is bitchin' and I want one!
8. A 1911 PISTOL
I don't really care about the brand. I just want a sweet one. I wouldn't turn this Kimber down if somebody wanted to give it to me
9. TC MUZZLELOADER
After bowhunting the last 3 years I think it's maybe time to mix in a little muzzleloading. I would prefer this one:
I also wouldn't mind the Pro Hunter with the thumb hole stock.
10. OVER/UNDER SHOTGUN
I grew up bird hunting and never did it with an over/under. Is that even allowed?? I don't really have a brand preference and wouldn't mind a 12 or 20 as long as it is lightweight and feels nice against my shoulder
That's it folks. There is my wish list (as of right now... until I see something at next year's shot show or in next month's Guns and Ammo. BUT...... I have also compiled an Honorable Mention category so here it is in no particular order:
HONORABLE MENTION:
1. ONE OF THESE 2 SUPER FAST AUTOLOADING SHOTGUNS
EITHER THE WINCHESTER SX3 OR THE REMINGTON VERSA MAX
2. AN AR STYLE SHOTGUN
I saw one of these at the SHOT show in Vegas in January and my Jaw dropped. Talk about bad A intimidator for home defense!?!? And, can you imagind hunting rabbits in LOA with this thing?

3. CHRISTENSEN ARMS AR15
Staying with the AR theme. I LOVE this AR and would get this one above any other if I had the means. Mike, when you asked me what I would get if I could choose as far as AR's go... this is the one for me!
4. SMITH AND WESSON AIRWEIGHT .38 SPECIAL OR .357 MAG
It's light, durable, and good for the ladies. I wouldn't mind this for a carry gun.
5. TAURUS JUDGE OR SMITH AND WESSON GOVERNOR
6. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST.... A DROZD FULLY AUTOMATIC BB GUN

Can you imagine all the shinanigans you could get in with one of these as a kid?? I still want one as an adult.
So... if any of you have any ideas as to how I can accomplish my acquiring everything on my wish list, I'm all ears. Thanks for your time.
Quinn
Love the post Quinn! Nick and I have been talking a lot lately about varmint guns. I told him my next top three guns are a varmint, 9mm, and a lever action. I know we have talked about which route to go with the varmint gun and after much thought, looking and holding I've decided the preditor hunter Remington r-15 I'd the one for me. It seems to be a good mix between the traditional and ar type platform. I think I would get the collapsible stock. I know it's a bit more than some of the others, but would prefer to wait a little longer and get the one I really like. Nick is torn between the savage and the t&c venture and it has really been wearing him out. Sounds like you like both those guns, but prefer the savage. Anyways I enjoyed the post and was looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY debated on the r15 when I got my AR but I have always wanted a traditional looking (black) AR and It was WAY on sale so I decided to get it thinking that I would never afford 2 so I better go with the safe bet. But, that's why I have the r25 on my list so I still get the remington but in a diff caliber now that I already have a .223
