Doing The Best We Can With What We Have

Doing The Best We Can With What We Have

Mission Statement

With the expanded use of social media today, it is easy to look at others' lives and wish you were them. There are a handful of fortunate individuals who get to hunt and fish for a living. There are others who's circumstances allow them to spend more time in the outdoors than most. The truth is.. the majority of us are average people. Average men and women who do the best we can with what we have. For us, every hunt is public land. Every hunt is DIY. We will most likely never own a Yeti, our Igloos will have to do. Never look down range through the lens of a Swarovski or wear anything adorned with the Sitka logo. We will never have a hunting magazine, never be the stars of our own hunting show, become prostaff members, or receive free gear. We have a limited number of days off each year, and limited funds to spend. This does not however crush our spirit or curb our enthusiasm for the great outdoors. We will take every opportunity we get to enjoy the Streams, Lakes and Mountains.

We do not criticize those more fortunate than us. Our hope is to appeal to hunters just like us. Those with limited time, limited assets, limited resources, marginal gear, yet, 100% passion.

IT'S GOOD TO BE A MAN

All of the before mentioned things wouldn't be complete without one thing that I feel like goes hand in hand. That one thing is:

6. COUNTRY MUSIC

What better to listen to as you are rollin' down the road in your truck, working, hunting or fishing than Country music? Many people cringe just at the thought of it and it gets a bad redneck reputation. Truth is, in many cases, there is nothing more real life, and more american than country music. I mean.. honestly, what would you rather listen to, a song where every other word was B's and Ho's? If it weren't for sex, rap music would be extinct. Country music speaks to the heart, it is realistic and just makes you feel good while out doing man stuff.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of EVERY country music song and some of them are a little cheesy and redneck. There is nothing I hate more than somebody making a song in the name of country. I just want to throw up when I hear some of these new songs from these new guys like Luke Bryan, Eric Church etc... Leave it to the professionals, ok guys. On the other hand, I have a personal rule that whenever George Strait comes on the radio, I have to hear it out. No changin' the station when the King come on.

My life just wouldn't be complete without some good country music to get me goin', make me happy and make me proud I am a man. I love it!!

  1. There is a special spot in my heart for good ol country music. It is very American and very much about being a man. Feel free to view our past post and purchase THE SLAM SOUNDTRACK.

I agree to a certain point. But think about all those times in those little venues. Starting Line, Ataris, New Found Glory .... nothing better for a broken heart that a little punk Rock!
"Can I sell the Sunrise in return for a sunset yeah, can I just be here on more day until my summer fades away.... summer fades away...

  3. I have really enjoyed this post along with the others dealing with all things man. Quinn has really put some time into this and I appreciate many of the same things that he does. Country music is the best if for no other reason than the fact you can understand the lyrics and the songs make sense. I know there are exceptions. Also if you listen to country there is a pretty good chance that you aren't a liberal hack.

  4. These posts are awesome. Thank goodness there are a few men left in the world. If it doesn't drive a pick-up with lures stuck in the upholstery, eat cheeseburgers and own a shotgun, I ain't touchin' it with a 10 foot pole, haha!
