Doing The Best We Can With What We Have

Mission Statement

With the expanded use of social media today, it is easy to look at others' lives and wish you were them. There are a handful of fortunate individuals who get to hunt and fish for a living. There are others who's circumstances allow them to spend more time in the outdoors than most. The truth is.. the majority of us are average people. Average men and women who do the best we can with what we have. For us, every hunt is public land. Every hunt is DIY. We will most likely never own a Yeti, our Igloos will have to do. Never look down range through the lens of a Swarovski or wear anything adorned with the Sitka logo. We will never have a hunting magazine, never be the stars of our own hunting show, become prostaff members, or receive free gear. We have a limited number of days off each year, and limited funds to spend. This does not however crush our spirit or curb our enthusiasm for the great outdoors. We will take every opportunity we get to enjoy the Streams, Lakes and Mountains.

We do not criticize those more fortunate than us. Our hope is to appeal to hunters just like us. Those with limited time, limited assets, limited resources, marginal gear, yet, 100% passion.

Vote On Our New Logo

So, we decided that it's time to grow up and change the name of the this Blog and the name for our hunting/fishing club. We decided on a name but having some trouble on the Logo for stickers/patches/t-shirts etc.... Please comment/vote on your favorite. Thanks.

    I think the one on the lower right would look best embroidered - more clear - easier to see.

    This is so great! I love the colors you have chosen and the music is the best Jerry! My vote is for the first one. I really like the hooks at the bottom and 3 outdoor adventures represented. The runner up would be the bottom left. Good luck in all your adventures!

    I like the one with the hat and fish in middle, and hooks on the bottom. Reminds me of the BoyScout Sign.
    By the way when I see the hat; a mental picture of Quinn pops in my head. I don't know why.

    We appreciate the votes and the words of encouragement! We couldn't of made this important decision without the help of close friends and family. Sounds like we need to have another meeting. I have a bag of wings in the freezer and we all know its only right that I bring the food.

    Dan:
    The top one with the duck, fish, deer and the fish hooks by far is the best one. Here's why:

    1. the ones with the crest would be nice if you were in the "knights of st. george fishing club" but your not. This isn't 1745 and it doesn't fit with the blog.
    2. the black silhouettes of the deer,fish,hat, and the deer, fish, hat, rifle, and rod would look to much like a black blob.
    3. the rod/gun crossing with fish and deer looks to much like a rail road sign. choo choo
    4. The rectangle with the white silhouettes is to plain, it's totally vanilla icecream in a rocky road blog.
    5. the scope with the deer, fish, rod and rifle would be my second choice.
    Having the first one is classy. It would look classy as a decal and wouldn't look like every other hunting design. It shows you love to hunt, fish, and be outdoors but not necessarily blood thirsty that you need to kill everything you see.

    I definitely pick the top one with the fishing hooks, and the rifle scope as my second choice. I agree completely with Amy!

    Thanks to all who have commented so far!! Classy Fisherman Holly?? Really? (have you seen the pic of nick with his hat and fake pony tail??) I'll take that as a compliment.

    At first I really liked the three on the right side. I think the crests are a little too generic and the top one is growing on me.

    I like the middle right the best. The other logos have too much going on and I can tell what everything is in this because the white pops off of the black back ground.
