Doing The Best We Can With What We Have

Doing The Best We Can With What We Have

Mission Statement

With the expanded use of social media today, it is easy to look at others' lives and wish you were them. There are a handful of fortunate individuals who get to hunt and fish for a living. There are others who's circumstances allow them to spend more time in the outdoors than most. The truth is.. the majority of us are average people. Average men and women who do the best we can with what we have. For us, every hunt is public land. Every hunt is DIY. We will most likely never own a Yeti, our Igloos will have to do. Never look down range through the lens of a Swarovski or wear anything adorned with the Sitka logo. We will never have a hunting magazine, never be the stars of our own hunting show, become prostaff members, or receive free gear. We have a limited number of days off each year, and limited funds to spend. This does not however crush our spirit or curb our enthusiasm for the great outdoors. We will take every opportunity we get to enjoy the Streams, Lakes and Mountains.

We do not criticize those more fortunate than us. Our hope is to appeal to hunters just like us. Those with limited time, limited assets, limited resources, marginal gear, yet, 100% passion.

THE WAIT IS OVER

 Spring Trip Prequel.. Quail Lake

And Now For The Real Thing.....
Perfect Lake Powell Morning!!

Matt found the famous Good Luck veggie tray for Quinn... (and a hat)

I found them too...

There was a 7ft wall at  the end of the public ramp so we "had" to use the valet... it was nice.

We had a new participant this year.... thanks for coming Rome!!

We may have had a little more down time on our hands than usual..... we just may have invented the next Olympic event however.

LET'S JUST SAY WE DIDN'T GO HUNGRY ON THIS TRIP

Our World Famous Striper Fish Tacos

These pics don't even show the meals we had... these are only the snacks

It's always hard to say goodbye....
Bryce's Drive Home

IN OTHER NEWS:

I got out to Sand Hollow one morning and did pretty well on a deep diver.... almost every cast!

August is supposed to be killer for coyotes. We have always seen a ton of them on the archery hunt so,  we headed out one Friday night, got a tube steak in Veyo and stopped off at Lew's to sight in Mike's new AR. We didn't see any sign of a dog but saw several deer and a flock of wild turkeys. It was good to get out.

I headed out after a coyote again the other morning...... it was disappointing at best... no coyotes to be seen/heard of.

Just a little upgrade to the rig

Bryce also scored himself a new truck.. a 2006 F250. meet "Max"

The Vice Pres. and I got out on Labor Day and headed up to Beryl to shoot chislers..  They were'nt out but we did get to shoot a little bit, have a bev and chew some seeds... it was a good Day. We almost went all the way to the ol' Blue Knoll. Our old pronghorn killin' territory.

Rome got to pour at a shooting range... always good to be on a range, even if it is to work.

Cody Has been getting out a little bit as well.... nicely done Cody!

Awesome Pic!

Matt got to go up to Washington State to work and got a little fishing in and saw the salmon run.

Followed by a little stop....

Nick's Cousins in Wyoming.... Not bad for opening morning

And Finally.... it will be here before we know it:
