Doing The Best We Can With What We Have

Doing The Best We Can With What We Have

Mission Statement

With the expanded use of social media today, it is easy to look at others' lives and wish you were them. There are a handful of fortunate individuals who get to hunt and fish for a living. There are others who's circumstances allow them to spend more time in the outdoors than most. The truth is.. the majority of us are average people. Average men and women who do the best we can with what we have. For us, every hunt is public land. Every hunt is DIY. We will most likely never own a Yeti, our Igloos will have to do. Never look down range through the lens of a Swarovski or wear anything adorned with the Sitka logo. We will never have a hunting magazine, never be the stars of our own hunting show, become prostaff members, or receive free gear. We have a limited number of days off each year, and limited funds to spend. This does not however crush our spirit or curb our enthusiasm for the great outdoors. We will take every opportunity we get to enjoy the Streams, Lakes and Mountains.

We do not criticize those more fortunate than us. Our hope is to appeal to hunters just like us. Those with limited time, limited assets, limited resources, marginal gear, yet, 100% passion.

Next Item of Business??

Ok, I know I haven't even posted pics or videos from the Loa trip yet but I have already got our next item of business up for discussion. I can't wait for our little planning meetings. These meetings may even be more intense than the Boat meetings. I mean, the Tahoe was nice for the trip and I thank Meree for letting us use it but lets face it, we may wear out that welcome before too long. So, I motion that we put this up for discussion and start to pool our resources. All in Favor?

First of all, watch this inspirational video:

So,
The trip will go as follows:

We will be departing from Matt's house Thursday night at 6:45 pm Sharp! - We have the Aquarius for that night so we need to make it worth it and also so we have all of Friday to enjoy. Lets try to have the car loaded so the minute seth gets home we can kiss meree goodbye and leave. (well. so that matt can) Please, Please, Please lets try to get away early. There is still some debate as to which vehicle to take. Either Matt's tahoe with Hot Dog or Ron's white truck. Either way, we need to pack as light as possible. I will have 4 guns, 1 bin w/clothes and ammo, and a blanket and pillow. Any ideas on which car would be better?

Thurs between 9-10 pm. - Flip off Brian's Auto on our way through town. Arrive at Aquarius, check in, swim/hot tub? - we will just eat dinner before leaving.

Friday a.m. - Wake up EARLY and go out hunting. Flip off Brian's Auto as we go by - We will either go on a coyote hunt first thing or go right to the spot for rabbits.
* Continental Breakfast

Friday afternoon - Hunt all day!. Flip Off Brian's auto as we go through town - if rabbits are scarce, we may go toss a lure or two in the river. - Stop to Grocery store just for good measure.
* Turkey Sandwiches for lunch out at the rocks

Saturday Afternoon - Leave sometime between 12 or 1 p.m. due to the weather in order to get to Nephi on time -Flip Off Brian's Auto as we leave town.

- Travel to Nephi

Saturday p.m. - Arrive at Nephi Fair Grounds for Coyote Banquet
- Raffle (Watch Bronzen win something good)
* Coyote Dinner - Chilli, rolls, cookies

We will either drive home after the dinner or stay at Anita's depending on the weather and the hour.

Just a friendly reminder: ABSOLUTELY NO Reebecca Romijn, or Pavlov's COMMENTS WHATSOEVER!!!! Hopefully this will help us avoid any unfortuante events!!

So, Matt take care of that ankle these next two days. Seth and Bronzen - get your school work done.
